More than a typical match-3 puzzle (think Candy Crush), Head Crush invites you to explore the unique BizarreBeasts universe, where meticulously crafted, hand-drawn artwork meets strategic gameplay, all complemented by an original soundtrack composed and produced by Kate Yarter of Honey High Records (available for streaming and collecting).

Get ready to strategically manipulate game pieces that highlight the unique personalities of Calzone, Rufus, and the various BizarreBeasts, with every move synced to an engaging blend of trap rhythms, hip-hop influences, the distinctive sound of a groovy guitar, and the resonant pulse of a funky bass. Each match represents a calculated choice, and every character acts as both a game piece and a collectible work of art.

Gameplay: Strategy, Speed, and BIZARRE Challenges

Each round presents a challenge lasting 30 to 50 seconds, requiring both strategic planning and quick thinking. You'll navigate level goals such as "Collect 5 Cecils" or "Collect 13 Hans," adjusting your approach with each play.

Game Mechanics

Tap or swipe tiles to swap their adjacent positions and form horizontal or vertical lines of three or more identical BizarreBeasts.
Achieve level-specific goals before time expires to progress.

Special Tiles:

White Beasts: Create massive chain reactions by clearing all instances of the same beast. Utilize them for combos and high-score runs.

GO BIZARRE Tiles: Activate these to clear extensive areas of the board and reset the rhythm. Timing is crucial.

FU Tiles: They descend slowly from the top of the grid, obstructing your moves and forcing you to adapt. You can’t match or swap them, but if you strategize effectively and let them settle at the bottom, they are removed from the game board, and you are rewarded with bonus points.

To master Head Crush, concentrate on level objectives, anticipate FU tile behavior, and strategically deploy power tiles. Precision and chaos blend seamlessly in this bizarre gaming experience.

Scoring, Combos, and the Farcade Leaderboard:

Score higher by matching 4 or more tiles and creating rapid combos.
Efficiency is key: achieve goals quickly for bonus points.

Your score is displayed on the Farcade leaderboard, alongside other players. Return frequently to improve your best run, showcase your score, and ascend the ranks of the most BIZARRE matchers onchain.

Development Journey: From Vision to Interactive Reality

The development of Head Crush was a dedicated effort, requiring well over 100 hours of patiently vibe-coding the game with the assistance of AI.

As an artist, I utilized AI tools and a creative, resourceful approach to transform my vision into an interactive artistic format. Overcoming the challenges of tile logic and power-up implementation was a significant personal achievement, as there were several moments during this process when it seemed that I would not be able to figure out a solution.

I’m not a developer or coder, but I am a resourceful artist and entrepreneur, a quick learner, and I create with purposeful intention. This game has pushed me to new heights, and this is just the beginning of an exciting application for the BizarreBeasts.
